2025 Walton County Fair Cattle Entry

Attention: Cattle Show
 
General Rules:
  • Exhibitors must be 8 years of age to a senior registered in high school.  
  • All livestock must have an official individual identification, and an in-State Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health paper) dated no more than 90 days (in-State cattle) and 30 days (out-of-State cattle
  • All entries are required to be seen by the USDA inspector when you arrive before parking or offloading any animal. 
  • All exhibitors and animals must be checked-in and weighed between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 PM. Saturday, October 18, 2025 
  • Cattle arriving at a time other than stated above must have prior approval of the livestock chair. 
  • All cattle will be shown by weight class. Cattle can be either purebred or crossbred. 
  • Exhibitors may enter up to five (5) animals.  
  • Grooming space and holding areas are limited. All animals should be clipped and groomed prior to arrival. Grooming chutes space is extremely limited. One chute per area/group is recommended.  
  • Generators will be needed due to power accessibility.   Power will not be supplied by the Walton County Fair.
  • This is a blow and go show, NO FIT show. All animals will be exhibited at the owner’s risk and in their natural state, clean and clipped. NO paint, glue, etc. Animals should be shown clean and dry. Failure to comply will result in immediate disqualification. ALL ANIMALS WILL BE CHECKED FOR PAINTS, GLUE, ETC. BEFORE ENTERING THE SHOW RING. 
  • Livestock must be shown by the exhibitor unless he/she has multiple entries per class. If there are multiple entries, he/she may designate another individual to show for them in the animal’s prospective class or division. 
  • All animals must be dehorned. Horns must be made smooth with the head 
  • Exhibitors must wear appropriate footwear and attire. This rule pertains to the entire show grounds from arrival until departure. 
  • Exhibitors will provide all necessary items to feed and water their animals. Please make sure all items have some sort of identification that belongs to the showman. W.C.F.A. will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.  
  • All exhibitors are responsible for stalled area cleanup.  
  • NO dogs allowed on premises unless they are service animal.

$20.00 per head – Heifer, Steer, and Bull

Saturday Schedule: 

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.: Check-in/Weigh-in 

1:00 p.m.: Showmanship: Oldest to youngest. Following showmanship: Heifer classes by weight (lightest to heaviest), Champion Heifer Division, then Steers (lightest to heaviest); Champion Steer Division, followed by Bull class (lightest to heaviest) Bull Champion Division 

Age Divisions for All Beef Showmanship Classes: 

(All ages are as of September 1 of the current year

Showmanship Division: 

Senior: 14 – 18 years of age 

Intermediate: 11 – 13 years of age 

Junior: 8 – 10 years of age 

Awards:  

  • Premiums and Ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 10th in each division.  
  • Grand Champion and Reserve Champion will be selected from class winners (1st and 2nd place winners of each class). Premium and Rosettes will be awarded.  
  •  Grand and Reserve Champions for each division (Heifer and Steer) will receive belt buckles.  
  • ONLY the Grand Bull Champion will receive a belt buckle.  

Divisions for Beef Show Classes: 

(Division is defined as Heifer, Steer, and Bull) 

Heifer Show: 

  • Heifers must be no more than 24 months of age 
  • Heifers will be shown by weight.  Classes will be divided at management discretion. 

Steer Show: 

  • Steers will be shown by weight. Classes will be divided at management discretion. 

Bull Show: 

  • Bulls cannot be more than 24 months of age day of show. 
  • Bulls will be shown by weight. Classes will be divided at management discretion 
  • If a bull is older than 12 months a nose ring is required 

All classes will be placed after weigh-in. 

*Show officials reserve the right to make decisions deemed to be in the interest of the beef show. (Unruly/aggressive livestock will be penned and not allowed to continue to show

*No one associated with the show will be held liable for accident or injury to any person or animal, theft, missing, or loss/damaged property.
