Assumption of Risks Related to COVID-19

Walton County Fair, Inc. has taken reasonable steps to lessen the risk of COVID-19 transmission within our facilities and grounds. However, we are not responsible for any COVID-19 related risks associated with the use of our facilities. We encourage mask-wearing but do not enforce it due to staffing limitations. Visitors must use their discretion and understand the inherent risks.

COVID-19 is a highly contagious and dangerous disease, recognized by the World Health Organization as a pandemic. Participation in our events or use of our facilities involves certain inherent risks, including:

  • Close contact with individuals or objects that may carry COVID-19.
  • Direct or indirect transmission of COVID-19.
  • Potential injuries or complications, ranging from minor to catastrophic, including death, resulting from COVID-19 exposure.

Visitors must accept and assume all risks of loss, injury, sickness, death, damage, and expenses arising from these inherent risks.

  1. Prohibited Activities:
    • No gambling or games of chance, lotteries, betting, horse racing, dog racing, or any pari-mutuel wagering is allowed on the fairgrounds.
  2. Livestock Regulations:
    • All livestock entries must comply with Federal, State, Local, and Provincial statutes, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to food chain safety. Livestock are subject to random testing.
  3. Entry Limits and Eligibility:
    • Unless specified, there is a limit of one entry per person per class.
    • All items entered must have been made or grown this year, except for livestock.
    • Exhibitors for cash awards must be residents of Walton County or members of Walton County Clubs unless otherwise noted.
  4. Premiums and Awards:
    • Premiums will be awarded for blue, red, and white awards unless otherwise specified.
    • Cash awards can be picked up from Division Chairpersons when items are retrieved.
    • Early removal of any item forfeits the cash award.
  5. Liability:
    • The Walton County Fair Association is not responsible for loss or damage to items. Efforts will be made to protect all items.
  6. Entry and Pick-Up Times:
    • Non-livestock items: Saturday before the fair opens, 8 AM – 4 PM.
    • Baked goods: Sunday before the fair opens, 2-4 PM (judging at 4:30 PM).
    • Poultry and rabbits: Sunday, 1-3 PM; swine: Sunday, 3-5 PM.
    • Other livestock: Day of show (check rules for times). Entries must be made at the Walton County Fairgrounds; no entries will be accepted or returned via US Mail.
    • Pick-Up Times: Saturday, the last day of the fair, after 9:30 PM or Sunday, the day after the fair closes, from 1 PM – 4 PM. Items must be picked up by 4 PM on Sunday unless prior arrangements are made. Early removal or failure to pick up items will result in disposal and forfeiture of ribbons and cash awards.
  7. Judging:
    • All decisions by the judges are final. Judges may disqualify any exhibit deemed inferior to the Walton County Fair standards.
  8. Health Certificates:
    • Required for all horses, sheep, goats, cattle, and swine. Horses must have a negative Coggins test without exception.
  9. Senior Citizens:
    • Defined as those age 62 and over.
